    How long have you been involved in Multimedia development?
    About 5 years, it all started with a position at an ISP when I was 16 years old. I was doing basic webdesign, back when the Internet was first getting off the ground as a standard source of information.

    I would say 6 months. Not that long. 2advanced is only the third full-flash interface I've done thus far.

    How were you introduced to Macromedia Flash and what was your first impression?
    I was first introduced to Flash by a friend who was doing a little bit of experimentation with the program, telling me that it was something I could probably do something interesting with. He showed me the Gabocorp website, and I was hooked. I thought, "This is what I want to do". So, I downloaded the trial version and started playing with it. It came across as something that could ultimately begin the revolution of the "ultimate user experience" with the technology we have now.

    What is the purpose and/or goal of your site 2advanced.com?
    2advanced.com was intended to showcase my work, and share some of the things that are close to my heart in regards to design, and the future of technology in general. I have a lot of visions and concepts in my head that I want to share with people, so I wanted to create a little world where people could get inside my head. I wanted people to know me a little bit better.

    What specific design challenges did you face when developing 2advanced.com?
    2advanced needed to have the correct balance between design and functionality. I tried to stay focused on not "over-animating". You'll see this happen to a lot of flash sites, they go to far and become too flashy. There is a discipline level you have to stick to when doing flash sites, so that you don't turn people off. When I come to a site that's too overdone, it doesn't hold my interest, and I tend not to stay long.

    What specific design challenges did you face when developing Binus Group's site?
    Binus.com was an attempt to create something professional, but still entertaining and interesting. Some flash sites will scare people away if you make it too hard-edged. There are audiences out there that are looking for corporate level design studios, somebody that is relatively conservative in the way they approach things. So, with Binus.com, I had to hold myself back a little bit, and use my design knowledge to create an interface that was fluid and intelligent, but professional in appeal.

    What influences do you feel serve you as inspiration in your work?
    I am greatly influenced by the pioneers in the field of flash development, namely Gabocorp, NRG Design, and the more recent Insomnious. They all served as a springboard to help me realize that this is something that I've always wanted to do, I just didn't know it yet. But aside from the developers, I get a lot of my influence from music and books. You could consider me a Futurist, as I have read just about everything by William Gibson and listen/create electronic music. Neuromancer by Gibson has had a lasting effect on me. The way he describes the interfaces of the future Internet help drive me to emulate those interfaces in present day.

    What tools do you most commonly use in developing your flash objects?
    I primarily work in the Flash environment for creating the native elements of the interface, but most of my backgrounds are done in Adobe PhotoShop and imported as optimized jpg's. For 3D elements, I'll use various programs like Xara 3D to create model of fonts, etc and then Ill trace the bitmaps in flash.
